· Students will be working with/ reviewing these procedures each art class Through September

· Slide Show: Review of artists/ concepts form last year

· Review 3 types of lines

· Review Shapes

· Review Patterns: what kinds of patterns can they remember? Kinds of patterns can they create? Where do they see patterns in nature? – we will be creating patterns using lines, shapes and colors- Slide Show: Quick show- animals with patterns on them- types of lines, shapes, and colors

· Review glue use- intro to glue bottle care- using glue lines (outlining our animals in glue)

· Students continue working on their Crazy Patterned Animals- should show the entire animal/ should be large (take up most of the paper)- they should add details on the animal as well as create a home for the animal around it.- Students may work on creating their art folders when finished.

Resources (Materials/Texts/Visuals/Technology):

pencils, crayons, Markers, Colored Pencils, construction paper, digital images, computer, TV, glue, scissors

Misc:

“Crazy Patterned Animals” : Students will need to draw a real or imagined animal, and then cut it out. Animals will be glued on a different background color. At least 2 patterns will need to be used on the animal as well as details added to the animal and to the background. Animals need to be almost as big as the piece of paper. Students must create a place where the animal lives around the animal.
