2nd Grade- Landscape Collage (Space)

Identify media and tools and how to use them in a safe and responsible manner when painting, drawing and constructing.

Objectives:

· TLW explain 2 ways of creating space

· TLW identify the 3 parts of a landscape

· TLW the 3rd way to create space (placement on the page)

· TLW create a collage using drawing, paper cutting, and the 3 ways to create the illusion of space

· TLW practice various basic art room procedures

· TLW demonstrate each art room procedure

· TLW recall the 3 art room rules

· Check students for participation + daily working attitude (points earned)- visual

· Teaching Scoring Guide used in Landscape Collages (2nd major project- students will grade themselves + receive final grade using scoring guide)

Review ways of creating space

· Slide Show: Looking at Landscapes- look at 3 parts+ 3rd way of creating space (placement)

· Students begin work on their “Sloppy Copies”- rough drafts on drawing paper/ Once they have their ideas they may begin drawing, cutting out, & gluing shapes.

pencils, colored pencils, crayons, chalk, markers, paper, scissors, construction paper, glue, TV, computer, digital images

Misc:

Landscape Collages- Students will work on this project for at least 2 art classes. This project combines what they have learned and know about line, shape, and space, in a much more involved project.
